- It is illegal to connect or install a gas stove yourself or use an unlicensed person.
- A CoC proves the specific gasfitting work meets official New Zealand standards.
- A GSC confirms that once connected to the gas supply, the stove is safe to use and does not harm the rest of your gas system.
- A licensed gasfitter must test the lines for gas leaks and check correct pressure and performance.
- The certificate acts as a formal sign-off that the appliance operates safely without risk of fire or carbon monoxide issues.
- If a gas leak or fire damages your home, your insurance company will ask for your gas compliance certificates.
- Missing or uncertified work can result in your insurance claim being reduced or completely denied.
- When you sell a property, lawyers and buyers routinely request compliance records for all gas appliances during due diligence.
- Missing certificates can delay your property settlement or reduce your home's sale value.
Ovens and Stoves
Press the clock/timer button until the time flashes, adjust hours and minutes using the + / - buttons, and press the clock button again to set.
Digital clocks in appliances can gain or lose time. There are a few factors that can affect how this occurs and the most common is the frequency from the power grid. If the clock is designed to run on 50Hz and it gets more/less than that then it will either gain or lose time. The amount of time it gains/lose will be dependent on the frequency difference it receives. The time is generally a few seconds but over a period of a few weeks it can be a few minutes out.
Some clocks run on Quartz crystals and these clocks will function differently to those who rely on power grid, other clocks connected to the internet updates to a central clock every few hours to ensure the time is displayed correctly.
Electrical pulses or “electrical noise” from other appliances can also affect the digital clock time and cause it to either lose or gain time.
Open door fully, flip up the locking latches on both hinges, lift the door to a 45-degree angle, and pull upward to slide hinges out of the frame.
Accidental damage is usually something covered under household content insurance.
Cooktops
Check the rating label stuck on the underside of the cooktop chassis (accessible from inside the cabinet beneath) or on the original warranty card. There is also a copy on your manual.
Cut-out dimensions vary by model; consult the specific installation manual or product specification sheet before cutting benchtop surfaces.

Two element electric units and gas cooktops may run on 10A-15A.
Your installer may hardwire or connect a plug at time of install.
They come setup for Natural Gas and include a LPG conversion kit with alternative jets.
Induction uses electromagnetic fields to heat the iron base of the pan directly, offering instant heat control and cool glass surfaces.
Please note - induction cooktops will only work with induction suitable cookware.
Rangehoods
Soak aluminum mesh filters in hot soapy water with degreaser or mild dish soap for 20 minutes, brush gently, and rinse clean. Do not place in dishwasher as higher water temperatures can damage the filter.
Every 1 to 2 months, or more frequently with heavy frying/wok cooking.
Filters cannot be washed therefore need to be replaced.
Replacements are available to purchase via the Parmco website.
Standard requirement is 150mm rigid/semi-rigid ducting depending on the hood motor rating.
Minimum 750mm above gas cooktops (refer to local gas regulations).
Please refer to the website or contact Parmco direct for carbon filter information.

Dishwashers
Scratches, chips, or tears in the vinyl coating expose the raw steel underneath to water and salt, causing rust. Hard water minerals can also accelerate corrosion on damaged tines.
Surface rust caused by physical damage or scratched vinyl coatings is not covered by the warranty.
Manufacturing defects in the rack material within the warranty period are reviewed case-by-case.
There will either be a latch that when pressed the basket can lower/lift up. Or there will be a second set of tracks where the basket can go into to adjust height.
Laundry
Unscrew the 3–4 red/metal bolts on the rear panel of the washing machine using a spanner, pull out the bolts and rubber spacers, and seal the holes with the plastic caps provided.
Adjust the threaded feet at the bottom corners using a spanner until the unit is level in all directions (verify with a spirit level), then tighten the locknuts.
Waste Disposers
Turn off power, wait 5 minutes, locate the red reset button on the bottom underside of the unit casing, and press it firmly inward until it clicks.
The air switch is sold separately.
Refrigeration
If your freezer is heavily frosted over, ice can block the air vents or the return air duct leading to the fridge section. Because Parmco combination units rely on a single evaporator in the freezer to cool the fresh food compartment, blocked vents will prevent cold air from reaching the fridge. Turn your fridge completely off for 24 hours to allow for a full defrost. Once defrosted, turn it back on and test.
Cold Air Settles at the Bottom: Cold air is naturally denser and heavier than warm air, so it sinks to the very bottom of the fridge cavity right where the vegetable drawers are located.
Proximity to Freezer Evaporator Vents: In top-mount or bottom-mount Parmco refrigerators, the main cold air supply vent from the freezer is often located directly above or behind the crisper drawer. If cold air blasts continuously onto produce without dispersing, it freezes high-water-content items like lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes.
Crisper Humidity Controls Set Incorrectly: Opening the humidity slider vents on the drawer allows too much frigid main-cavity air to flow directly over delicate vegetables.
Incorrect Thermostat Settings: Setting the overall fridge temperature too low (e.g., $1^\circ\text{C}$ or $2^\circ\text{C}$) leaves no margin of error, causing localized zones at the bottom to drop below freezing.
Under-stocked Fridge: A sparsely filled fridge lacks thermal mass. Without enough items to absorb and store cold energy, cold air circulates too quickly and concentrates in the bottom bins.
