Oil/Moisture dripping from filters
In order to avoid oil/water dripping from the rangehood we recommend the following.
- 1. Wash the grease filters more regularly.
- 2. If you are using carbon filters, replace it if this starts occurring.
- 3. Turn the rangehood on a few minutes before you start cooking and leave it on for 5-10 minutes after you have finished. This is because all the oil and moisture is not gone immediately when you stop cooking. If you turn it off at the same time the moisture/oil would not have made it through the entire ducting process. This would then form droplets inside the ducting and run back down through the motor etc. (gravity)
You can do a paper test to see if there is suction. Hold a piece of paper against the filters. if The paper stays against the filter when turned on it means there is suction and its working fine. If the paper doesn't stay up it could mean that the ducting is blocked etc.
