Dishwashers – Common Issues & Care

  • Filter Assembly: Remove the lower spray arm and twist out the cylindrical mesh filter at the bottom of the tub. Rinse under warm running water and scrub gently with a soft brush to clear food debris, preventing foul odors and drain backups.
  • Spray Arm Nozzles: Unclip the upper and lower spray arms and inspect the water jet holes. Use a toothpick or needle to clear out mineral deposits, seed hulls, or food particles blocking water flow.
  • Door Seals & Gasket: Wipe down the rubber door gasket and the bottom lip of the door frame using a damp microfiber cloth and mild soap. Removing built-up grime preserves the rubber seal and prevents water leaks.
  • Tub & Interior Walls: Run an empty hot cycle using a dishwasher-safe cleaning tablet or a cup of white vinegar placed on the top rack once a month to dissolve limescale buildup, grease crusts, and soap scum.
  • Detergent Dispenser: Clean out caked-up detergent powder or liquid residue from the dispenser cup latch and door mechanism to ensure detergent releases properly during the wash cycle.
