Induction Cooktops - General

  • Cooktop displays error codes (e.g., "U", "Lo", or flashing numbers): This usually indicates a pan detection error or a control lock feature. Ensure the pan matches the burner zone size and is magnetically compatible. If the error stays after removing cookware, turn off power at the main circuit breaker for 5 minutes to hard-reset the unit.

  • Cooktop makes clicking or buzzing noises: Higher power settings cause magnetic coils to vibrate against cookware layers. Buzzing is harmless; switching to heavier-bottomed, solid cast iron or multi-clad steel pans usually reduces the sound.

  • Burner won't heat: Induction requires ferrous metal. Test cookware by checking if a fridge magnet sticks firmly to the base. Aluminium, copper, and 100% glass/ceramic pots will not work.

  • Control panel unresponsive: Liquid spills or grease on the touch control area trigger safety lockouts. Wipe the surface completely dry with a clean cloth to restore touch sensitivity.
