Gas Cooktops - General
Clicking continuously but won't ignite: Moisture or grease has seeped into the spark igniter pin. Turn off the gas line, remove the burner caps, and gently dry the white ceramic igniter pins using a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol or a hairdryer.
Uneven or yellow flame: Clogged burner ports restrict oxygen flow. Lift off the metal burner ring and clear out clogged gas holes using a straight pin or needle (avoid wooden toothpicks, which can snap inside).
Flame goes out as soon as the knob is released: The thermocouple (the small metal rod next to the burner) isn't sensing heat. Clean carbon buildup off the thermocouple with fine steel wool. When lighting, hold the knob depressed for 3–5 seconds to allow the valve to open fully.
